Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing look forward to their first ever BTCC race this weekend at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in Kent. The team, who are new to the grid for 2009, will be fielding a pair of bio-ethanol powered SEAT Leon’s for Adam Jones and Dan Eaves.
Team boss Colin Neill is excited about the challenges that lay ahead for the team in the BTCC, and said: “I can’t believe how far we’ve come in the past few months, everyone has pulled together to get things done and we are on schedule, which in motorsport terms means flat out. I’d like to thank everyone in team for all their efforts and am convinced it will all pay off.
“Cartridge World, our title sponsor, and all our commercial partners have been fantastic to help us get to this point, as an independent team and in these tough times it’s great to have them all with us. This is an exciting period for the team and we are looking forward to the challenge of Brands and meeting our targets for the weekend. Watch this space!”
Dan Eaves returns to the BTCC after three seasons out and is eager to go racing at the top again. “I’m really looking forward to the start of the season, Brands is a special place. We’re a new team with a lot of experienced people who have a lot to prove, we’ve come together very well and they are all great guys… and girls. I ‘d like to thank all our sponsors and want them to know I think we have a great chance of some good results this season.”
Adam Jones, who was an impressive ninth in last year’s championship driving an independent SEAT Leon, will be hoping to use his experience with the car to do well straight away in ‘09. The 28-year-old is also excited at the prospect of racing with a team-mate for the first time in his BTCC career. “I’m convinced that the season will be good for the team. Having a team mate will make life easier both on track and off compared to last season, when it was just me out there. I can’t wait to go racing again and with a little luck we can get some good results.”
Catrdige World Carbon Zero Racing already seems to have won one thing this year - in a recent BTCC Action poll they came out on top in a battle of the best liveries for the forthcoming season.
