Adam Jones has gone fastest in the second of today’s free practice sessions with a time of 1:27.839. The practice session took place in slightly cooler conditions than this morning’s first practice, with a track temperature some 5 degrees cooler than first practice on an otherwise scorching hot day. Colin Turkington was second fastest, with Jason Plato completing the top three.

Jones set the fastest time whilst carrying no ballast, whilst the second fastest man Turkington was carrying 36kg of lead - and still managed to lap only 0.096 seconds off the leading pace. Plato had spent much of the session leading the timesheets and was 0.167 seconds further back.
Fourth fastest was a resurgent Stephen Jelley - he had gone only 14th fastest this morning. Mat Jackson also improved dramatically on his earlier session, to move from 13th to 5th. Jonathan Adam was the sixth fastest driver, ahead of Harry Vaulkhard.
With the top seven positions filled with independent runners, Fabrizio Giovanardi was the first manufacturer/constructor driver and took eighth fastest time, 0.433 seconds off Jones’ pace. James Thompson was ninth fastest, whilst Andrew Jordan improved a position on his earlier session and was tenth quickest.
