James Thompson has become the second driver to take three wins in 2009, after Colin Turkington, this afternoon with a controlling drive in the third race of the day. From pole position the former champion withstood pressure from Andrew Jordan who finished in second place. Completing the podium was Matt Neal, who retakes his points lead from Turkington.

Rob Collard undoubtedly produced the drive of the race to take fourth position - from 20th on the grid following his race two troubles! The Airwaves BMW driver nearly made the podium but for the brilliant defensive driving put on by former double champion Neal. Collard was also the fastest driver on track, collecting a bonus point in doing so.
Jason Plato finished fifth to add to his two podiums from the previous races, making this his highest scoring weekend of 2009. Fabrizio Giovanardi finished in sixth place, unable to challenge Plato for fifth.
