In his seventh year of car racing, Matt Allison managed to finish a highly respectable 12th overall in his debut year in the BTCC. For 2008 he looks to continue the sort of form that has seen him take the British GT Championship GTC Class Honours and championships in the Renault Clio Series by racing for Robertshaw Racing. The team is new to the BTCC and brings with it the Chevrolet Lacetti - unproven in the British series but a winner in World Touring Cars. Matt will surely be hoping to provide the car with its first win in the British Championship as well.

Advertisment
Following the switch from karts to cars Matt immediately made an impression, winning the BRDC Formula Ford title at his first attempt. From there he progressed through several series, including 4 season in the ELF Renault Clio Cup culminating in the title in Winter 2005. This lead him into the British GT Championship where he again excelled in his first year in the series, collecting 4 wins, 6 pole positions and 9 podiums to secure the title.
