Gordon Shedden, born 15 February 1979 in Scotland, current races for Team Halfords (aka Team Dynamics) in the BTCC after showing impressive form in pre-season testing. He got the drive for 2006 despite not having completed a great deal of testing - the deal only being finalised in the weeks leading up to the start of the season. His results in the 2006 season were enough to persuade the team to retain him for the 2007 BTCC.
Shedden had a fleeting encounter with the BTCC back in 2001 when, with GR Motorsport, he raced a Production-class Ford focus at Knockhill. Up until his drive for Team Halfords in 2006, this was his only race in the BTCC.
Prior to racing in the BTCC, Shedden had spent two seasons competing in the Seat Cupra Championship, finishing runner up in his debut season in 2003 and 4th in the championship in 2004. In 2005 he had a guest drive at his home round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain finishing an impressive 3rd and 2nd. He then did some testing for Team Dynamics prior to the 2006 BTCC championship and the rest, they say, is history!
