For 2009... |
Tempus Sport are a completely new team for 2009. The team have plenty of experience in other fields of motorsport with key personnel coming from a variety of backgrounds including the World Rally Championship, World Touring Car Championship and Formula 3.
Co-founder Richard Coleman brings experience from world touring cars having worked for RML who run the works Chevrolets in the WTCC. This link will be maintained throughout 2009 as the team uses the wealth of experience available at RML. The team are campaigning the latest Chevrolet Lacetti machines that RML used in the world championship last year.
Harry Vaulkhard switches teams from the under-funded Robertshaw Racing, with whom he raced a Chevrolet Lacetti in the 2008 BTCC, to the new Tempus Sport team. He has put the car through its paces during the off-season, with the team putting in substantial running in Portugal and the UK.
The team also has Alistair Titmuss as chief mechanic, who comes from RML and has experience dating back to the super touring days of the BTCC. Former BTCC race-winner Warren Hughes will be at hand to provide driver coaching.
The team faces a steep learning curve in its first year of BTCC competition but has all of the right ingredients to be successful. Vaulkhard now has a seasons experience under his belt and will no doubt benefit greatly from the experience within the team and knowledge of the car. Tempus Sport could produce some surprising results during the 2009 season.
