For 2009...

VX Racing continue with the Vectra for the third year in a row as they seek to retain all three of the titles they won last year.

Reigining driver's champion Fabrizio Giovanardi and former champion Matt Neal are joined by the young Andrew Jordan who races for a works team for the first time in his career. Originally expected to race an independent Vectra, Jordan made the switch to the works squad in January after having already been present at several of the teams test sessions.

Vauxhall have been busy testing throughout the winter months, taking to the track in Southern Spain in November and also at several circuits in the UK as they test new components for the new season.

Following SEAT's withdrawal and with no rival manufacturer competing in the 2009 championship, ToCA has made the decision to create an enhanced manufacturer/constructors title. This means that Vauxhall will be competing against Team Dynamics and Team Aon who race the Honda Civic and Ford Focus models respectively. Therefore technically Vauxhall cannot retain its manufacturers crown, but is sure to face extremely fierce competition for the new title.

Note

Triple Eight Race Engineering took over the preparation of Vauxhall's race cars in the BTCC for the 1997 season. However Vauxhall has a history in the championship prior to this, and took two drivers championships in 1989 and 1995. This page only details Triple Eight's years and association with the Vauxhall marque.
