ARKAS Racing's campaign in the BTCC is run by Tech-Speed Motorsport, a team whose experience goes back twenty years since being created in 1984. Arkas Racing itself was only formed in 2006 to run in the BTCC, with Turkish racer Erkut Kizilirmak being a key figure within the new team. 2008 sees Erkut being joined by Martyn Bell in a second Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatch as the team look to build on an impressive debut year. | |||

| The name Arkas come from the Arkas Automotive group in Turkey, who are the country's first multi-brand car dealership. For the 2007 season Arkas decided to team up with Tech-Speed and create a new BTCC team, running ex-works Astras with limited support from Triple Eight Race Engineering. Tech-Speed themselves have experience in running ex-works Vauxhall BTCC cars having fielded the older model, the Astra Coupe, for Fiona Leggate in 2005 and 2006 and also an Astra Coupe for Michael Bentwood in 2004. |
